Readers of some of my past posts know that I am a huge fan of using debate and debate techniques in the classroom as a great pedagogical tool for promoting learning in an exciting and interesting way, at both the K-12 and ideally even college levels.
It is thus with great pleasure that I announce, in case you haven’t seen it already, the availability of a new PBS documentary, Beyond Debate, which draws on the ideas and people I wrote about in my book Resolved on this subject. It is being shown on PBS stations throughout the country this month, and is or will be available on Amazon TV and Apple TV.
But you can view it here from this link: https://www.pbs.org/video/beyond-debate-a-revolution-in-education-fff4h3/
Enjoy and feel free to pass along.
Needless to say, given what has been going on in this election season, having a useful reminder of what true civil discourse is like, and how it can greatly advance education, could not be timely or essential. I wish many adults would take it to heart too.
