When I started writing these columns, I thought I would concentrate my weekly posts on topics drawn from my professional life as a lawyer and economist and occasionally write some book recommendations. I’ve discovered over the past month that readers (thank you to all who are reading and giving constructive, positive feedback!) seem to like when I write about “life lessons” so I fear I may lose you if I spend too much time talking shop, let alone politics, or heaven’s sakes, religion! (I still will try the latter subjects on occasion, both because I probably won’t be able to help myself and also because I’ll want to see the results of the experiments). Likewise, you can always get book reviews elsewhere.
My 7th grade math teacher taught me how to play the guitar and told me I should get a Ph.D. I was able to send him a copy of my rock and roll book. I had lots of great teachers and it made all the difference in my life. Most I didn’t get to thank personally.
